Reading the whole Bible is hard. Therefore, below 12 important topics with 4 verses each will lay the foundation of our basic knowledge in the scripture which we can meditate day & night with joy and start the journey of Engineer for Christ!

1. Who are we?

  1. Gen 1:27-28 So God created mankind in his own image…; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue…”
  2. John 10:34, Ps 82:6 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods” sons of the Most High
  3. Luk 17:21 …The Kingdom of God is within you
  4. John 1:11-12 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

    Meditation:
    If someone were to claim Elon Musk didn’t create SpaceX, which is by the way, one of the greatest engineering achievement of the 21st century, it would be an insult to his hard work and dedication. Likewise, when we ignore or deny the Creator of the universe, are we not rejecting and ridicule the One responsible for the greatest creation of all and His plans? Would that not be a form of rebellion against Him?
    Our intricated body, soul and mind declares the glory of the creator because We are fearfully and wonderfully made to be like our Creator, to find deep and hidden things that God has planted (Deu 29:29) so we will be thankful for His work & love Him, hate Evil, and live successful and blessed Everlasting joyful & peaceful life (Ps 139). Therefore Faith in God is not a foreign thing, however the rebellion against Him had also been for thousands of years along.
    Did you know that World renowned Genome scientist and Director of NIH, Francis Collins is a strong advocate, testimony, believe in God’s creation and confirm how special we human are in Jesus Christ to rule the world, live our lives as God’s great plan, just like many other great scientists including Dr James Tour who is known for his strong faith in resurrection of Jesus and the only one holding professor of nanotechnology, professor of Computer Science and Professor of Chemistry simultaneously right now and even Sir Isaac Newton who spent more time studying Bible than his Science? In-fact, most university in the world like Harvard, Oxford etc. were built by the Church! For this reason, faith in God, as revealed through Jesus Christ, should not be confused as being in conflict with human intellect. Rather, faith and reason works together, inspiring humanity to seek truth, wisdom, and the purposes of the Creator.

2. Enemy’s Plan:

  1. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life
  2. John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
  3. Gen 6:5-6 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
  4. Rom 1:21 although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

    Meditation:
    Is it possible to know that you have been scammed to follow the NOT the best options and is it possible that you get stuck with the person who tricked you knowingly because you think you don’t have other good option?
    While our family visited Bangkok Grand Palace, as we step down from a taxi, a guy with fluent in English, dressed smart approached saying he was a police agent helping tourist from scammer, explaining how things works there. The first thing he asked was if we had purchased a Ticket already and I said “no”, which open the next convo and he told us Grand Palace was at Lunch Break and will have to wait 1 hour before we can go in. He suggested to visit around with the boat which cost 7000Baht for 5 of us but would discount to 5000. I said “not interested” then he offered a free Tuktuk ride to the site with no obligations and can return if we don’t want. We decided to explore out for free and when arrived at the site they told us not to tell others and would discount further to 4000 which is around AUD $200 but my family especially kids don’t want it as we suspect it’s a scam price. Given we were already there and thinking the Grand Palace was still closed for an hour for Lunch Break, I negotiated to 2000Baht (~$100 AUD for 5 people, which I thought was reasonable though my family were not happy at all) the guy agreed and said Okay but don’t tell anyone sitting next to us. We ride around and came back to Grand Palace after an hour only to find that GP was never closed for LUNCH. The guy took our focus away from GP and once we listened to him, he was able to inject his thoughts and plans. No matter what I think I win the negotiation, we were in the realm of his lies & tricks, that’s how the Thief came to steal the Word of God by introducing other desires and focus, then easily Kill & Destroy our lives with scam, evil and never to fully receive the glorious plan of God (John 10:10, Deu 28:14-64, Pro 4:14-19)

3. God’s Incarnation:

  1. John 8:58 (10:30-33) Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM!
  2. Phil 2:6–8 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God…rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
  3. John 3:12-13 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [a]who is in heaven.
  4. Rev 21:7 (6-8)  I will be his God and he will be my son.

    Meditation:
    If the Bible says, God came to the World and performed miracles and wonders, including resurrection from death to save the lost and give hopes by becoming like human, will you believe and be thankful to God for the work He had done?
    When fathers drop their fishing and hunting gears and instead follows their sons for City games and shopping, you know those fathers love their sons. How about the Creator, the mighty God of Heaven & Earth becoming like us the sons and play with us, is there any bigger Love and Care than that? (Isa 9:6, John 1:14, John 4:6) Yet, if son ignores that sacrificial love, there is no further help as it is written in Rev 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

4. Salvation by Grace:

  1. Matt 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows
  2. Eph 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast
  3. Rom 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
  4. Eph 2:10  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.

    Meditation:
    When we were little kids regardless what we are doing, we choose to believe and trust that our parent love us and they will cook food for us, even though we can’t see them cooking for tomorrow. Likewise, did you know that no one can go to heaven or be saved by our good actions but believing and trusting in God’s mercy and love is fulfilled in Jesus, the God in human form, which is called Faith. That’s why believing and trusting Jesus good work for us is grace and the foundation of Salvation!
    Saving the First born of a family by the Angel of the Lord during Passover in Egypt was not about how strong, smart and rich the family were. It was about trusting in Him by gladly following his instructions or Living Word (LOGOS), that the blood of the Lamb on their door post will save whoever inside the house regardless of who they are (Exo 12:23). However, that grace of Salvation is not to be mistaken as a permission to sin in the future. It is not, as it is written in John 8:11…And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

5. Grow in Salvation:

  1. Matt 12:43-45 The impure spirit… says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
  2. Hosea 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children
  3. John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life
  4. 1 Pet 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation

    Meditation:
    If you plan a flower in your garden, but found that the flower never grow even after watering for years and never bloom, what would you do? You root it out and plan another hoping for the better right?
    That is what God does when the tree doesn’t grow well and bear fruits (Mat 3:10)

6. New Life:

  1. Jer 17:5 Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD
  2. 2 Cor 5:1-2 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling
  3. Pro 8:13 To Fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
  4. Phil 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

    Meditation:
    When everyone is using car for transportation, even if you have horses, would you trust and decided to use the horses to go to school and shopping? Probably not as you can take advantage of new technology.
    GPS is a new great way to navigate around the City and unknown territory especially google live navigation, compare to 90s and will not fail to reach the destination though it may sometime to drive around a bit longer route. Yet, impatient and deciding to take a shortcut route against the GPS to get to the workplace sooner can get worse, only to realized there was an accident on the Highway and the GPS was trying to avoid that problem for me. The day we follow our desire instead of God’s navigation only leads to disappointment and destruction very quickly. However, who trust in the LORD and focus their mind on above, even if they fall, the LORD will uphold him with his hand (Ps 37).

7. Be Confident:

  1. Deu 28:1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth
  2. 1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
  3. Rom 8:28,31,38-39 Everything works for good for those who love God…If God is for us who can be against us…For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord
  4. Isa 40:30-31 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

    Meditation:
    You know that your parents will do everything they can, to keep you from hunger at night, and get you the beautiful dress you need, why should you be worried about as long as you have a good relationship with your parents right?
    Same rule apply when it comes to spiritual matters, it starts from relationship, obedience and discipline. Every Olympic Champions have to go through rigid training and obedience to get the rewards! (Phil 3:12-14) Once you know that you had a perfect training, you would be very confident with your competition, but without discipline and obedience, it would be hard to have confidence. Remember Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Sam 15:22)

8. Be fill with Holy Spirit:

  1. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
  2. 1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit
  3. Rom 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
  4. Matt 5:14 You are light of the World…

    Meditation:
    You know that Car cannot drive itself around the city but there has to be a driver inside the Car. You may argue an AI/Computer can drive itself but that AI is the new Driver.     What do you want your Body/vehicle to be filled with?
    A boy forsaken by his brothers turn into Prime Minister of a country, Joseph, An orphan turned to the greatest prophet, his name was Moses. A shepherd turn into King, A guy on a street of Ohio City and have nothing turned to one of the biggest show owner, his name is Steve Harvey. Messi, Neymar etc, Last but not the least, A boy unknown in small Hakha town and become World UFC LW champion, Joshua Van etc.
    One thing is clear, They all choose to fill their vehicle of body with the Word of God. How about yourself? What will you choose to fill yourself?

9. Be Mature:

  1. Mat 22:23 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”
  2. Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil
  3. 1 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
  4. Jam 1:19 Quick to Listen, slow to anger

    Meditation:
    Will you choose to be always like a baby or choose to grow up with the desire to do righteous thing, train and live for others?
    When I was a child, I was wondering how adults wants to eat bitter gout veggie, when grown up, I’m surprised no more and I do like it. Likewise, when we grow up in spiritual life, our food is different we are able to bear pain, sacrifice for others and still love them because we truly know God’s love in Christ so much for us and loving others is a joy as a children of Most High, especially starting with our beloved wife and children, then to others as God leads us what he deem best (1 John 4:7-21, Especially verse 18)

10. Be Holy:

  1. Matt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God
  2. Heb 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord
  3. 1 Cor 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own
  4. 1 Pet 1:16 Be holy for I AM holy

    Meditation:
    Our parents loves us even if we fall on a dirty street pothole and smell really bad. They will wash and clean us before we can go inside our clean bedroom to have a peaceful rest. How much more our Heavenly Father be like for our cleaning and holiness?
    Holiness comes from within. Our heart is like a garden. In our garden, it’s a great joy to have healthy and beautiful plans and vegetables. We know how unwanted tree can be annoying and disruptive our plans and to avoid such unwanted situations, when a weed is small it’s easy to uproot and kill. Once they grow up and became a tree, it’s very hard to rid so is our sinful nature destroying our personal, family & society. We were all born in sinful nature and those worldly temptation comes out every seasons like the weeds. If we nurture and careless about what the sinful heart wants instead of growing in the wisdom of holy instructions of God words and fill our heart with the power of Holy Spirit, we are easily overwhelmed with the weeds of sin and demonic things. Worse not only in this earth but in the second death (Ps 51, Rev 21:8)

11. Be Courageous:

  1. Jos 1:9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
  2. Matt 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me”
  3. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you
  4. Isa 40:30-31: Youth shall grow faint..but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

    Meditation:
    How will you be so confident to go to shopping unless you know the paper you hold is money and has the authority for the transaction? Likewise, unless we know God has the Authority over the Universe how can we be confident about the future?
    When I was a little boy, I was raiding an Elephant, with my untie joyfully and what an experience. I don’t think it would have been fun or have courage to ride alone. The key here is knowing the truth about everything will be alright and been watch over by the Almighty God of Heaven and Earth. When the Devil temps Jesus to give him all the worlds glory if he worship him. Jesus knew that He has everything on earth and Heaven already even without the Devil so he doesn’t fall for temporary pleasure Satan’s offer.  Knowing and realizing the God of heaven & earth is on our side, changes everything about how we see our Life, Job, Success, Purpose and Enjoyment and we are able to focus on things above and Eternal instead of temporary tricks and scam of the demon and satanic(Rev 22:12-20) 

12. Great Mission:

  1. Mat 6:20-21,33 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…Seek fist the Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you also…
  2. Matt 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
  3. Matt 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
  4. Isa 8:6 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

    Meditation:
    It is God’s grand design that dogs can be trained to keep our home secure and be good friends of human but will never be able to provide us eggs like chicken, and chicken can never keep our home secure like dogs either. Likewise we human have many limitations but are specially designed by God to be His friends and called to have fellowship with Him and live for His Mission works and rule eternally in Heaven with God. Will you accept that gracious call?
    One of our wealthy Church member invited our young people to work in his Farm and make money for youth department funding. It was an opportunity that we had been invited to his beautiful farm and enjoyed lots of sugar cane apart from our cleaning and making money, as he had every right to not invite us. God is the owner of the World. He has every right to end this world but it is his grace that he has given you and me an opportunity to harvest for our own joy & Eternal rewards as a Children of Most High God to show his Love to us! (Matt 9:35-38)
